Graphite Ring Description
The Graphite Ring is an annular sealing component manufactured through winding, molding, or precision machining of high-purity flexible graphite or reinforced graphite material. It features excellent resilience, a low friction coefficient, and stable chemical inertness. Capable of maintaining sealing performance across an extreme temperature range from -200°C to +1600°C (in inert environments), it also resists corrosion from most acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. This product is widely used in static or low-speed rotational sealing applications such as high-temperature and high-pressure valves, reactors, pipeline flanges, pump shafts, and aerospace engines. It can be combined with metal reinforcement or coated with anti-oxidation layers to enhance structural strength and service life based on operational requirements.

FAQ
What is a Graphite Ring? What are the main types?
A Graphite Ring is an annular seal made from graphite material. Main types include flexible graphite spiral wound gaskets, molded reinforced graphite rings, and composite graphite rings with metal cores.
What is the maximum operating temperature of graphite rings?
In oxidizing environments, up to 450°C (with anti-oxidation coating). In inert or vacuum atmospheres, they can withstand over 1600°C long-term.
What corrosive media are graphite rings suitable for?
They resist most acids, alkalis, organic solvents, and high-temperature steam, but are not recommended for strong oxidizing acids (e.g., concentrated nitric or sulfuric acid).
How do graphite rings achieve sealing? Do they require lubrication?
They rely on the softness and resilience of graphite to conform to sealing surfaces. Their self-lubricating properties eliminate the need for external lubricants.
What is the service life of a graphite ring?
Depends on operating conditions (temperature, pressure, medium, vibration), generally 1-5 years, with longer life under stable conditions.
